Phyllis Christopher is a San Francisco-based photographer whose work displays a wide variety of interests, but her main artistic inspiration is the lesbian community that flourishes in her city and really came of age in the 1990s. She has pulled together a few hundred of her best photos to create "Sextrospective: A Decade with San Francisco's Sexiest Lesbians." It's a personal collection that doubles as a document of the era, with images ranging from the erotic to the bizarre to the incredibly moving. A small sampling is available on her website, but in an interesting twist, the rest of the photos are available on DVD ... which is not as big as a coffee table book, but at least the pages won't get stuck together.
