We're almost ashamed to post about this—given the fact that the barely amusing "Bareback Mountain" pun has long since worn out its welcome via endless regurgitation on weblogs, independent films, and adult industry conventions—but we feel duty-bound to inform you that a press notice heralding the imminent release of an actual gay porn DVD called "Bareback Mountain" hit our inboxes just minutes ago. Although we haven't seen it yet, since fledgling amateur smut outfit 1R Media (previously best known for the more amusingly titled "I See Gay People") won't be unleashing the disk 'til the end of the month, it's safe to guess that it 1) won't stray too far from the studio's usual emphasis on "hot fantasies starring fresh hot twinks" and 2) will include some degree of bareback action, which will give those of you who aren't a fan of such things one more reason to keep it off your must-see list. Did someone declare Cheesy Gay Porn Title Month when we weren't looking?

Update: The more previews we see of this, the more disappointed we are that this was the first "Brokeback" porn treatment to hit the shelves; the fact that half the cast is wearing cowboy hats and/or red bandanas in some of the scenes seems to be the only thing vaguely related to the source material. Let's hope another studio rises to the occasion properly.
